Rihanna supports Climate Change movement

Superstar Rihanna has recently showed her support to the Climate Change movement, by making a considerable donation of $15M through her Clara Lionel Foundation.

The funds will be distributed between 18 climate justice organisations in the Caribbean and the United States, including the Indigenous Environmental Network, Climate Justice Alliance, and the Movement for Black Lives.

Rihanna said,

“Climate disasters, which are growing in frequency and intensity, do not impact all communities equally, with communities of colour and island nations facing the brunt of climate change.”

The grants, made in partnership with Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey’s #StartSmall fund, have been granted to organisations with female, LGBTQ and Black and indigenous leaders due to the greater risk within these communities.

We at Visionary Arts love to see people of influence using their platforms and wealth to help tackle social justice issues, well done Rihanna!
