Actress Aria Brooks talks mental health and using her platform for social justice

Actress and singer/songwriter Aria Brooks, 15, played ‘Anger’ in the film Harriet, has starred in popular Nickelodeon series All That and will soon feature in highly-anticipated Disney+ movie Better Nate Than Ever next year, however her skills don’t end with acting, she is also a singer/songwriter and recently released her EP Castles, where she touched on her own mental health struggles.

“I think it is important that we bring awareness to these topics. Mental health struggles look different for everyone and I want to share my story for those who are going through anything similar”.

Aria understands that her voice  may be influential beyond the big screen, and thinks it is important to advocate social justice issues on her social media platforms. She is particularly passionate about, voting rights and trans rights, amongst other causes.
 

“I’m very passionate about equality and I will continue to advocate for minorities. The larger my platform gets, the louder I will be about it because no one deserves to be treated differently because of who they are”.
